Although summer is upon us, Healthy Cleveland continues to work diligently to make a happier and healthier city for all! The projects of this summer were kicked off in April when the six subgroups of Healthy Cleveland met with Mayor Jackson. The six subgroups of Healthy Cleveland are the following: Healthy Eating and Nutrition, Active Living, Clean Air/Smoking Cessation, Mental Health, Healthy Neighborhoods, and Health Literacy. Each subgroup is comprised of a leader and members who have volunteered to help based on their interests and capacities to assist the subgroup. Read more »
On Monday July 22, Councilman Cimperman launched the first of his many “friendraisers” in Ward 3 to meet and connect with friends and neighbors. The event was hosted at the beautiful Ohio City home of Timothy Del Papa, who graciously invited about 40 south-of-Lorain neighbors to meet and connect with one-another over food and drink. It was a great opportunity for the Councilman to talk to neighbors about their concerns and to update them on the various works and projects that are happening in and coming to the community. On Monday August 5, members of Skyline Financial formally announced their plans to move their headquarters to the United Bank Building on W 25th Street in Ohio City. Skylight will bring 100 jobs to the area as well as occupying 18,000 square feet. The firm also plans to expand on the building by adding a 10th floor penthouse.Read more »
St. John’s Episcopal Church will be hosting and involved with several more upcoming events as the summer continues to wind down.
Recently, St. John’s participated in Ohio City’s Artisan First Fridays, which allows local merchants and others in the neighborhood a special opportunity to showcase their goods and services.On Thursday, August 8th St. John’s hosted a special event for the Cleveland Public Theatre.Read more »
